Our Annual Dinner this year was held at the Pleasure Boat at Hickling.
Following the decision to hold a two course meal at lunch time rather than an evening meal, it was a pleasant outlook over Hickling Broad which is a haven for wildlife such as the Bittern and of course the rare Swallowtail Butterfly.
Hickling Broad is the largest of our broads at 600 hectares, being part of the Upper Thurne Broads and Marshes with it’s classification as a site of Special Scientific Interest and is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. The small boats safely moored will soon be exploring this special place as we move into Spring. Whilst the ducks have the monopoly along the river bank at this time within a few weeks it will be people who will also be enjoying what this area has to offer.
It was a pleasant afternoon with an opportunity for members to enjoy a catch up with each other, I would like to thank all the members who were able to attend our lunch and to the committee, who, without their help and commitment this event would not have been possible.
